In 2018 James embarked on a project to build a tree, a waterfall and a number of origami birds for a hotel in Cebu - Maayo Hotel. The tree was 7m high and made from long dead wood, reclaimed stainless steel and recycled blown glass. The waterfall was built from natural rocks reinforced with recycled stainless steel and the Origami birds were from recycled sheet stainless steel. The 3 sculptural elements made from sustainable materials were designed to contrast with the industrial look of the interior, bringing nature into the 7th floor lobby of the hotel.
Mandani Bay, a jewel of a development along the coast line of busy Metro Mandaue, Cebu, comprises over 20 exquisitely designed high rises. They approached James in 2021 to dress a lounge area in the main foyer of the corporate headquarters.
In 2013 James worked on the interior design of “Beach Villas” and “Bahay Kubo”, an exclusive resort in Northern Cebu. All elements from the Capiz shell lighting and windows, the goatskin bar stools and the furniture were made from reclaimed wood and sustainable byproducts
